Each year the Society of the Cincinnati makes Anderson House available to select private clients for corporate and personal entertaining. Few venues are more exclusive or more steeped in history. Larz and Isabel Anderson’s private parties were highlights of the Washington social season for decades. When the Andersons were not in residence, they loaned the mansion to the federal government, which used Anderson House to entertain foreign heads of state. That tradition continued after Mrs. Anderson presented the mansion to the Society of the Cincinnati in 1938.

Anderson House was designed for entertaining. The horseshoe-shaped driveway, passing through massive mahogany gates and under an elegant porte cochère, provides a special sense of arrival for your guests. The Ballroom is one of the city’s most remarkable and historic spaces. Kings, princes and prime ministers have been entertained here. Famed musicians have played the Anderson’s Steinway grand piano. Presidents—from the Andersons’ friend William Howard Taft to the national leaders of our time—have been guests of honor and hosted their own parties here. Now you can, too.
