Free Workshop for South Carolina Teachers, Hopsewee Plantation

Participants met at historic Hopsewee Plantation to learn about ‘Southern Heroines in the Revolution,’ The Saga and Legacy of Andrew Wallace: a Revolutionary War Veteran and the “Rescuer of Lafayette,” ‘John Laurens,’ ‘The Stamp Act and the Charles Town, South Carolina, Sons of Liberty,’ ‘The Siege of Charleston,’ and ‘The Soul of America: The Challenges of Teaching the American Revolution.’ ARI lessons and primary source materials chronicling lesser-known testimonies from America’s War for Independence were presented by South Carolina master teachers Dr. Timothy Hicks, James Calvin Dodd, Rikki Davenport, and Michael R. Burgess, along with our talented in-house team. Funding was provided by the Society of the Cincinnati of the State of South Carolina and the Georgetown County SC250 Committee.
