Class Visits

Bring your class to the American Revolution Institute

Our staff welcomes visits from upper high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, and other groups to explore the historic collections and resources at our landmark building in DuPont Circle. We work with instructors to design class visits that use the library’s remarkable collections to understand the history and legacy of the American Revolution, to cultivate critical thinking skills about visual and textual sources.

To establishing a meaningful learning experiences, we aspire to:

  • Create objective-driven learning experiences
  • Design thoughtful visits that provide students with time and resource to analyze resources
  • Collaborate with external educators through partnerships where all parties contribute toward positive outcomes
  • Transform students into library super users
